Name: Lillia Casillas Obituary: A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Chico Cemetery for Lilia Casillas. Lilia passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009. She was 73. Born February 3, 1936 in Hanover, NM to Juana and Estaneslado Murgia. She attended schools and graduated Hamilton City High School. She worked at the La Hacienda from 1960 through the 1970's, then was employed by Chico State University in the Library until her retirement. She loved gardening and spending time with her great-nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, "Chula". She also loved taking month long vacations in Mexico, spending time with her husband and his family. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Juan; her son, Sam Bales; her daughter, Frances Bales; three sisters and two brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews and her great-nieces and nephews whom she called her eight little angels. She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Bales. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 5-7 p.m., followed by a Rosary from 7-8 p.m. at Bidwell Chapel.
